Punjab's Precarious Socio-economic Condition: Tackling Agricultural Saturation, Labour Shortages, Unemployment, Social Tensions, and Brain Drain to Avert Impending Catastrophe.
KBS Sidhu: Thanks for your critical analysis of Punjab Problem. I read with deep interest your article: Punjab's Precarious Socio-economic Condition: Tackling Agricultural Saturation, Labour Shortages, Unemployment, Social Tensions, and Brain Drain to Avert Impending Catastrophe. The Problems are well identified but the SOLUTIONS are not provided.
The idea behind this article was to trigger discussion and seek feedback from enlightened minds, regarding the solutions.
Idealistic solutions which assume or require resources and conditions that are not practically possible, will only remain embedded in books and digital articles. What we require is a set practical and pragmatic solutions.
I can only find indigenous start-ups as the solution. Placed below is link to that article, which has also been lembedded in the article under review.
I will read your article. Dr Arvind, VC, PUP happens to be my old student. He has similar ideas to train Punjabi youth for entrepreneurship in rural areas of Punjab.
Absolutely Sir!! I’m all for reversing the unnecessary brain drain taking place and feel the need for us to vie for a place in the top 5 parameters in all the multitudinal categories indicative of a prosperous State.
When we take reference of the high rank of Punjab amongst all the States in the early 2000s , there is much hope and inspiration that transpires.
appreciated if you will add a para providing analysis about reducing number of youth joining defence Services compared to neighbouring state Haryana, Back in 2003 It was asked by Gen JJ Singh to Capt Govt as Punjab was not sending enough youth to Defence Services as it use to be in past, due to drugs and lack of sports activities, if you will provide analysis in this regard that would be great.
Again thank you for your hard work toward real issues of Punjab.🙏
