Sukhmani Sahib – Ashtpadi 9, Pauri 6
🔷 Introductory Note:
This pauri beautifully illustrates the inner state and divine recognition of a Ramdaas—a true servant of the Lord. Guru Arjan Dev Ji presents the Ramdaas as one who has become the dwelling place of the Supreme. Through humility, devotion, detachment, and divine grace, such a soul merges with the Will of God and is honoured both inwardly and in the spiritual realm. The verses describe the inner qualities and outer recognition of such a being.

🪔 Essence of the Pauri:
This pauri honours the spiritual stature of a Ramdaas—one whose heart has become a sanctuary for the Supreme. Such a soul is steeped in humility, sees the Divine in all, and remains detached even while living in the world. He perceives God's nearness, receives divine insight, and is beloved in both realms—earthly and divine. The path of the Ramdaas is not one of ego or ritual, but of surrender, inner awareness, and grace. It is a way of life rooted in devotion and detachment, silently transforming the seeker into the cherished of the Lord.
If you feel this humble piece could offer even a small measure of peace to someone you know, please do share it.

What I offer is a seeker’s voice — a servant’s humble attempt to understand the depths of the divine wisdom encapsulated in these sacred lines. Should I have made any mistake, misinterpretation, or omission, I beg for unqualified forgiveness in advance from the Guru and the readers.
