✨ Introduction

This pauri extols the immense creative power and boundless nature of the Supreme Being. Guru Arjan Dev Ji conveys the limitless manifestations of the Lord across fields of creation, skies, galaxies, incarnations, and cosmic play. Yet, through it all, the One Formless Divine (Ek Onkaar) pervades eternally. This pauri establishes the paradox of multiplicity within unity, and how everything arises from and dissolves back into that One.

🔶 ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਖਾਣੀ ਅਰੁ ਖੰਡ ॥
🔸 कई कोटि खाणी अरु खंड ॥
🔹 Ka▫ee kot kʰaaṇee ar kʰand.
💬 Many millions are the realms of existence and the regions of space.

🔶 ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ॥
🔸 कई कोटि अकास ब्रहमंड ॥
🔹 Ka▫ee kot akaas barahmand.
💬 Many millions are the etheric skies and universes.

🔶 ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਹੋਏ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
🔸 कई कोटि होए अवतार ॥
🔹 Ka▫ee kot ho▫é avṫaar.
💬 Many millions are the Divine incarnations.

🔶 ਕਈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
🔸 कई जुगति कीनो बिसथार ॥
🔹 Ka▫ee jugaṫ keeno bisṫʰaar.
💬 In so many ways has He expanded His creation.

🔸 कई बार पसरिओ पासार ॥
🔹 Ka▫ee baar pasri▫o paasaar.
💬 So many times has the expansion been expanded.

🔶 ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਇਕੁ ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ॥
🔸 सदा सदा इकु एकंकार ॥
🔹 Saḋaa saḋaa ik ékankaar.
💬 Yet forever and forever, He is One — the Universal Creator.

🔶 ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ॥
🔸 कई कोटि कीने बहु भाति ॥
🔹 Ka▫ee kot keené baho bʰaaṫ.
💬 Many millions are created in countless forms and kinds.

🔶 ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਤਿ ॥
🔸 प्रभ ते होए प्रभ माहि समाति ॥
🔹 Parabʰ ṫé ho▫é parabʰ maahi samaaṫ.
💬 They originate from God and ultimately merge back into Him.

🔶 ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
🔸 ता का अंतु न जानै कोइ ॥
🔹 Ṫaa kaa anṫ na jaanæ ko▫é.
💬 No one can know His limits.

🔶 ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥
🔸 आपे आपि नानक प्रभु सोइ ॥७॥
🔹 Aapé aap Naanak parabʰ so▫é. ||7||
💬 Of Himself and by Himself, O Nanak! That is the One God. ||7||

🌺 Essence of the Pauri

This pauri is a majestic reflection on the transcendental creativity of the Divine. The Lord is depicted as the originator, sustainer, and reabsorber of infinite cosmic cycles — galaxies, dimensions, avatars, and beings of every kind. Even while endlessly manifesting, the Creator remains the Eternal One (Ek Onkaar), unchanging and supreme. Human intellect cannot fathom His limits; He is Self-existent and sovereign. All that appears, emerges from Him — and all that disappears, dissolves back into Him.
