It is a well drafted article by KBS Sidhu and shows brilliance of his mind. I wonder WHY Sikh leadership succumbed to the British pressure to make compromises after their brave fight to liberate Sikh Gurdwaras from the control of Mahants?

Completely agree that the 1925 law is inconsistent with the affairs of Panth. The article, however, is more of a demand without a solution. The 3 acts given in the end seem more philosophical than practical. Govt can repeal a law, but who will make the panth charter, how will that be different from the current rehat-maryada. Who will rebuild SGPC, Akal Takht, will it be Govt?

Panth, Panthik Institutions, Theology, Literature, Culture can never be controlled unless the Sangat is controlled by the clergy like it is done in Islam and Christianity. We don't want to go that route.
